EXCLUSIVE: West Ham eye Roberto Martinez as Sam Allardyce replacement
EVERTON boss Roberto Martinez is a shock name on West Ham’s wish list if the Hammers decide to axe Sam Allardyce.
By John Richardson
Big Sam, who has struggled to win over the fans, is under pressure despite a season in which the club have flirted with European qualification.
It means the Hammers board are looking elsewhere and believe they would be able to lure Martinez (above) away from Goodison Park.
Ironically they have already sounded out former Everton manager David Moyes, who has moved to Spain with Real Sociedad but he has indicated for now he is staying put in La Liga.

Martinez would be great for us. It's a sad state of affairs that some West Ham fans these days would prefer a manager like the fat, useless prick we've got now.

Only way he'll be leaving Everton this year will be if they sack him.

Seems to be an increasingly desperate list of possibles in the press, eh? Moyes, Bilic, Rafa, Poyet, Bielsa, Klopp now Monk, Martinez.

What you need is a manager to unite the fans. We are WEST HAM UNITED are we not?

Rather have BFS any day
If we can't replace BFS with someone better it's best not to replace him
There's a lot better to choose from and we should be aiming for top drawer to move us forward NOT the likes of Martinez, Monk etc
Bielsa, Klopp, de Boer, Klinsmann spring to mind ~ whether we could get any of them is another matter but all would be an improvement
Martinez wouldn't! I can't stick the bloke anyway
I'm a bit fearful that we might get the same scenario as when Redknapp was axed ~ finishing up with a duffer like Roeder as the cheap option!

Many seem to think we've had a good season? We HAVE had a good season but the second half has been terrible.
Everyone would have taken top ten in April but the form after Christmas is why Allardyce has to go. Still a good season though without doubt - it just could and should have been so much better.

I reckon he'll finish above us this season - and many seem to think we've had a good season

Must admit I'm no longer convinced about him. Next season is huge for him if he wants to go on and have a big career in management. Being in the UEFA cup really didn't help him IMO.
He won't be coming to us though.

He has good form of taking a club down. Would suit us well.

I'm ambivalent about him. Maybe this season's a blip or maybe he's undone all Moyes' work.

Straight choice between the two and Martinez wins hands down.
